Network Opportunity for Secondary Maths Heads of Department

A series of FREE networking opportunities for Secondary maths heads of department to allow the development and sharing of best practice, particularly in the light of curriculum and assessment changes.

Next meeting:  This meeting has been cancelled and we will re-schedule in the Autumn term.

The final meeting for this academic year will be Monday 3rd July at St Cecelia’s School, Sutherland Grove, SW18 5JR, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. 

Agenda:

We are welcoming Jenny Davey from FMSP.  Jenny will update us on KS5 developments from 1.30pm - 2.15pm. This will be followed by an opportunity to discuss issues arising.

We will also share more general updates, and thoughts about possible future meetings.

There will be an opportunity to share ideas about useful resources for key stages 3, 4 and 5, so please bring along any resources that you have found to be helpful.

Travel to St Cecilia's School

Tube: Saint Cecilia’s C of E School is a 5 minute walk from Southfields underground station on the District Line.

Bus: The 39, 493, and 156 all stop at Southfields Station and provide access from Clapham Junction, Vauxhall and Tooting Broadway.

Car: Free on-street parking is available on Sutherland Grove and Skeena Hill (permit holders only between 1:30-2:30pm)

The meeting is led by Education Consultant, Helen Blanchard

Helen's teaching roles included subject leader, assistant head teacher and mathematics AST. She left teaching to work as a regional adviser for maths and functional skills with The National Strategies. Since 2011, Helen has been working as an independent consultant, supporting schools and academies with all aspects of teaching and learning. She is accredited by the NCETM to provide CPD in both primaryand secondary phases, and is a mathematics subject expert with Ofqual. Helen is also an accredited and experienced Ofsted inspector.
