Support Staff Maths Training

Supporting the teaching of maths: developing strategies, questioning and resources that will enable children to achieve mastery.

This interactive course, run over two half-days, is designed for support staff in KS1 and KS2.  It will focus on developing questioning to support and deepen children’s understanding of mathematical concepts as well as explore how to address children’s misconceptions through the careful use of resources and modelling. The course will also seek to develop subject knowledge in mathematics and explore key mathematical vocabulary. 

This training is aimed at support staff working within the classroom as well as at those running additional intervention groups outside the classroom.  The hands-on sessions will be led by maths SLEs, maths subject leaders and experienced senior leaders.
