Maths Mastery in Early Years through the use of pattern
Maths Mastery in Early Years through the use of pattern
“Pattern is less a topic of mathematics than a defining quality of mathematics itself. Mathematics “makes sense” because its patterns allow us to generalise our understanding from one situation to another. Children who expect mathematics to “make sense” look for patterns.” Erikson Institute’s Early Math Collaborative
This project will equip you to identify, understand, observe and trial the key features involved in designing effective practice for Early Years mathematics. The focus will be on pattern and how it can develop and challenge young mathematicians.
