The Power of Six - London's six Maths Hubs working together

London's Six Maths Hubs are joining forces to host The Power of Six conference, showcasing the best in evidence informed practice in maths education across all phases, form early years to university.
The last event of this type attracted over 400 delegates from across the maths community, despite the disruption of a Tube strike! So early booking will be essential.
Confirmed Keynote speakers include:
Sir Kevan Collins, Chief Executive of Education Endowment Fund and newly appointed "evidence champion" for the government's opportunity areas.

Alex Bellos, British writer and broadcaster on mathematics, science and football
Debbie Morgan, Director for Primary, NCETM

Workshops and breakout zones will give delegates the opportunity to engage with excellence in mathematics practice:
Early Years Zone - explore early childhood mathematics, the learning of number for three to five year olds in school, including a keynote from Sue Gifford (University of Roehampton)
Primary Zone - explore the big ideas around Teaching for Mastery, including how to implement it in schools with Debbie Morgan (NCETM) and our Teaching for Mastery Specialists
Secondary Zone - distil the lessons learned from the reformed GCSE and explore themes around variation and problem solving, including a session from Craig Barton (Mr Barton Maths)
Level 3 Zone - get set for the 2017 A levels and explore best practice in GCSE retake and Core Maths provision
There are also planned sessions on SEND and subject knowledge enhancement as well as plenty of opportunities to do some maths!
