Thinking ahead to September 2021?
Take advantage of the London South West Maths Hub  Secondary Curriculum Prioritisation Twilight Briefing

We are thrilled that the majority of pupils are now back in school across our region. We understand that the priority will be to re-engage and reconnect with pupils and for them to feel happy and settled. Alongside this, we know that Heads Of Department, Key Stage 3 postholders and secondary maths teachers will be recognising the need to respond to disrupted learning during lockdown in Primary schools; wanting to prioritise and understand what the learning gaps may be for their 2021/2022 intake.
Debbie Morgan, the Primary Director of the NCETM has given a strong message: 'You can’t possibly teach everything. So prioritise core areas of maths: those things that will make the most difference.’ This led to a detailed analysis of the Primary curriculum and guidance to all Primary teachers about what they should prioritise to ensure their pupils learn the concepts that are fundamental to supporting later progress.

We are inviting secondary maths HODs and teachers to join us for this one off session that will support them to understand the KS2 primary curriculum prioritisation and how this will impact on their pupils as they settle into Year 7 in September 2021. In addition, we will examine the NCETM toolkit in more depth and gain a better understanding of how these resources can be used to support Key Stage 3 maths teachers to review their curriculum and address curriculum prioritisation through purposeful assessment.
