A Graduated Approach to Supporting Maths Difficulties
Research and Innovation Work Group
SENCos or members of SLT will collaborate with other schools through one full day session and 4 half day face-to-face sessions to embed a graduated approach to supporting maths difficulties, including Dyscalculia, within their setting.
In between the sessions, gap tasks (1-2 hours each) will include identifying and assessing a pupil/pupils with maths difficulties; working with staff to support them and carrying out a learning walk. The training sessions will include input on:

the maths curriculum, teaching for mastery and other approaches to maths teaching

approaches to maths anxiety

current research on Dyscalculia and maths difficulties
