Secondary Subject Leadership Community
A CPD community designed specifically for secondary heads of maths
Subject leaders play a vital role in shaping departmental vision, culture and practice, and driving improvements in student outcomes. This project provides an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of effective teaching approaches, their wider leadership responsibilities, and their capacity to work with colleagues to transform secondary maths learning.
Participants will consider implementation approaches that support effective and sustainable change, ensuring that good practice is developed across the department leading to equitable student experiences. Participants will take part in the equivalent of three days of workshops, plus additional work in school.
Who can take part?
Participants will be existing secondary subject leaders. All schools involved in Secondary Teaching for Mastery Work Groups and programmes should participate in these communities. The community is also open to subject leaders whose schools are not yet involved.
Participants and their schools commit to the equivalent of three days of workshops plus additional work in school, including online and face-to-face hub-based meetings and workshops, school-based tasks, and participation in an online community.
What is the cost?
The community project is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme so is free to state-funded participating schools.
